Greyhound is a great restaurant-cum-bar.
Bangkok’s favourite café has finally arrived in Jakarta. Located at Grand Indonesia, Greyhound is part of the Arena group, also behind several famous restaurants like Penang Bistro and Seribu Rasa. The place is bustling with diners throughout the day. Part of the charm is its interior, where it is dominated in monochrome palette and artworks inspired by famous pop art artists, Andy Warhol and Keith Haring. Outside, a line of cactus plants gives the impression of a backyard as if you’re your own home.
Greyhound at Grand Indonesia is quite different, unlike the other branches. It also has a lounge concept with a beautiful bar, a long list of cocktails and spirits, and DJ performances on Saturdays. Don't get fool by their small entrance. Once you get in, you will find they have a spacious area, all bright from natural light. Most customers sit on the sofas on the side, but you also have tables in the middle of the room or high chairs at the bar.

During the afternoon, Greyhound is more like a regular café serving fusion Thai food, pastries and Thai tea drinks. It is also a strategic meeting point in Grand Indonesia and many shoppers will find it convenient for a relaxing pause after shopping. During the evening, the vibe changes perceptibly. The lighting gets darker, more intimate, and the music is slightly louder. The evening crowd also seems to be more fashionable. Greyhound is an ideal dating spot for a whole bunch of reasons including the design, the location, as well as the food and drinks.
The bar is well-stocked, with a special focus on whiskeys and bourbons. Some of them are their signature cocktails, namely the Tom Yam Martini, a creative Thai version of a classic martini, and the Siam Bourbon, a sweet and bitter concoction that comes with a vintage presentation. Both are delicious and well-balance.

For food, you should try their Street Style Grilled Pork on Skewer with Sticky Rice. The taste is exactly like in Bangkok. There are also some dishes great for sharing with friends such as the Rice Crackers, the Spring Rolls or the Crispy Raviolis.
