2. Pocong 2
One proved to be an all Indonesian favorite ghoulies of all time, pocong. The scariest, most intimidating, and unpredictable ghost there is, to even speak of the name shivers the lot of us.
The film itself tells about Maya (Revalina S. Temat) and her younger sister Andin (Risty Tagor) are orphans since a year back and have just started to move on with their lives. Maya is getting married to her boyfriend (Ringgo Agus Rahman) soon and Andin is afraid that Maya will forget about her. What she doesn't know is that the building is haunted and the terrifying ghost starts to haunt Andin.
Originally, there was a prequel Pocong (2006), which is why this movie is called Pocong 2 (2006). The prequel was banned due to its strong violence, and because it took a theme from real-life 1998 Indonesian riot in which many people of Chinese descent were raped and killed. SinemArt then decided to make a sequel with the same director to make up for the loss. As the first movie is banned and unable to recoup its production cost, director Rudy Soedjarwo shot this in seven days to cut down the budget.
