Religious and culinary tourism at Cut Meutia Mosque.

Besides strolling around one mall to another, visiting religious landmarks can be perfect alternative to spend your weekend. In Jakarta, there are several tourist attractions or landmarks designated as cultural heritages, including this mosque.

Cut Meutia Mosque was designated as a cultural preserve because of its history. Located at Jalan Taman Cut Mutiah No. 1, Menteng, Central Jakarta, this one is a legacy from Dutch colonial era. Not surprisingly, the architecture of the building, elements and ornaments, give a Dutch colonial nuance.

Its building also decorated with calligraphy. It once used as Dutch government building, post office, Japan Maritime Headquarters, religious affairs office to the Secretariat of Provisional People Consultative Assembly after independence day of Indonesia.

Cut Meutia Mosque can accommodate up to 3,000 people. Things make this mosque more attractive is the activities, both religious activities or entertainment, such as Ramadhan Jazz Festival held since 2010 are available here. For food enthusiasts, right behind this mosque, there is a legendary oxtail soup you should not miss, snacks to the fancy restaurants as well.

Masjid Cut Meutia can be accessed using various public transportations, including bus and train. If you choose train, you can get off at Gondangdia Station, while choosing TransJakarta you can get off at the bus stop near Menteng Park.
